They were not the ultimate winners of TV5’s Artista Academy but Shaira Mae dela Cruz and Mark Neumann are now the Happy Network’s best bet and answer to other love teams like KathNiel and JaDine.
Shaira Mae and Mark, known for their moniker “Shark,” are currently the Kapatid Network’s Prince and Princess of Kilig. Why such tag? Apparently, the Shark love team is the most requested pair to appear on the network’s primetime mini-series “Wattpad Presents.”
Since the conception of the show which is based from online novels, the Shark love team has appeared in 3 episodes already namely “Mister Popular Meets Miss Noboboy” (aired September 29 to October 3, 2014), “Mister Popular Meets Miss Nobodoy: Still in Love” (aired November 24 to 28, 2014), and “I’m In Love With a DOTA Player” (aired February 2 to 6, 2015). Apparently, these Shark episodes were among the highest-rated and even became a trending topic on Twitter.
By popular demand and clamor from their fans, Shaira Mae and Mark are back in their fourth and biggest Wattpad Presents ever! Titled “The Magic in You,” this episode which was based from the online novel of marielicious, was shot mostly in Hong Kong Disneyland. According to TV5 Entertainment Head Wilma Galvante, this is the first time that the world-class theme park partners with a Philippine TV network.
With a grand production for a Wattpad Presents episode, Mark and Shaira are thankful for the attention they are getting from their mother studio.
“We’re really honored and blessed to be part of this opportunity. I’m just missing the words to say how thankful we are,” said Mark.
“We’re super happy na pinagkakatiwalaan kami ng TV5 and ayun, we’re so blessed and napakaswerte namin kasi kami yung napili para dito,” Shaira Mae added.
“The Magic in You” tells the story of Princess (Shaira Mae), a big fan of Disney characters and who, like every girl, believes in the magic of love that comes to Disney Princesses like Snow White, Mulan, Cinderella, etc. That’s why she’s so happy when she learned that she was hired to be part of Hong Kong Disneyland as a songwriter. Her heart gets crushed after she arrived at the theme park after learning that she was scammed. While weeping at the Happiest Place on Earth, a mischievous boy named Basti (Mark Neumann) filmed her darkest moment and uploaded the video on YouTube. The video titled “Parade Crybaby” went viral. The scorned Princess promised herself to find Basti and take revenge. But when they cross each other’s paths, something magical happened.
